Our Year 7's had their celebration assembly this morning, recognising the huge successes they have achieved in their first term at Cromwell! Awards included 100% attendance, top 10% for positive behaviour points and no negative points all term! Well done everyone 🌟

Congratulations to Year 5 pupil Lily, who won a national competition run by caterer's Edwards & Blake to design an official 'Under the Sea' themed t-shirt! 🐙🐠🦀 Lily won a t-shirt featuring her design for everyone in her class, including Mrs Padelek and Mrs Slater! 🎉

At the secondary phase we have introduced Skills Builder as part of the student's Personal Development studies. Within Tutor time this term students have been focusing on the skill of Speaking; Transmitting information or ideas, while linking it to our core value of Respect. This skill is about how learners transmit information and ideas to others. Initially, learners communicate clearly with individuals they know, in small groups, and then with new people while organising points to be understood. Next, learners communicate effectively by thinking about what their audience already knows, choosing appropriate language, tone, expression and gesture, and bringing in facts appropriately; all while being respectful to one another. Suggested activities to try at home to build the skill of Speaking: For younger children, talk to wider family members. Help your child use the phone, video calling apps or other platforms to contact family members for a chat. Talk to them beforehand to plan what they might ask, then talk again afterwards about what was said. For older children, plan a presentation about a hobby or interest. This might be about a computer game, a sport or a style of music. Ask questions to extend the conversation. Merry Christmas all!

Congratulations to Isaac, Pia, Elin, Lola and Lizzie who received Amazon vouchers from Mr Stevenson today for the end of term Attendance Raffle! For every week that pupils attend 100% throughout the term they earn a raffle ticket and for every 5 weeks where they achieve 95% attendance or more they earn a bonus 5 tickets! In Year 10 Business this week with Mrs. Shepherd, the students took part in the GCSE Business Escape Room! The students worked hard to solve the various business-related puzzles to escape, with the winners taking home a festive chocolate Santa! Great teamwork and effort from all involved!

Year 12 celebrated the festive season with a Christmas End-of-Year Quiz hosted by Mrs Morris and Mrs Allen. Students embraced the holiday spirit by designing creative Christmas hats! Winners proudly received their certificates, and everyone enjoyed chocolates for a truly joyful occasion! 🎅🎄

Congratulations to our 58 Year 11 winners this morning! 🎉 Year 11 were celebrating the best progress from Year 10 to Year 11 mock exams and highest attainment in the November mocks. All received an Amazon voucher and certificate. Some students made 4 grades progress! We are all so proud of all of you, keep up the good work!

Centre 33 provides support for young carers who live in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, including many young carers at Cromwell. A young carer is someone aged up to 18 who provides regular care for a family member, and Centre 33 provide 1:1 or group support. Congratulations to Year 10 pupil Lennon, who as part of the Young Carers Advisory Board, won a Youth Voice Award from Cambridgeshire County Council on Friday! 🎉 This award recognises the incredible commitment, insight and leadership shown by the young people on the Board. They have worked hard to ensure that the voices and experiences of young carers are heard, valued and used to shape local support and services. We're all very proud of you!

Our Sustainability Lead, Mr Benton, and Miss Johnson, Vice Chair of the PTA, have arranged for a Clothing Bank to be installed at Cromwell! It is located at the Wenny Road pedestrian entrance near the Primary Phase and is accessible during school opening hours. Not only will you be helping the environment by recycling your unwanted clothing, textiles and shoes, the Cromwell Community College PTA will receive funding every time the Clothing Bank is emptied! Please remember to continue to bring any unwanted Cromwell branded uniform items to our Reception to be recycled via our Uniformerly shop.

This morning Year 11 had a 'Making History' assembly and breakfast, to receive their Mock Exam results! We look forward to meeting parents and carers this evening, at the Year 11 Parents' Evening to discuss next steps and how we can support pupils moving forward into 2026 as the final summer exams approach ⭐️

Our wonderful Reception children shone brightly yesterday as they performed their Nativity show for families and friends! They shared the Christmas story through songs, acting and dancing.
