Year 11

CLICK HERE FOR YEAR 11 INSTRUCTIONS  -  23/03/2020 to 03/04/2020

Please see above instructions for two weeks’ work that your child can complete while at home. Heads of subject will be regularly emailing pupils directly and subject staff will be available to answer questions and set additional work, should it be required. Pupils will not receive formal feedback initially but this is something we are working to be able to provide, should the disruption continue beyond Easter.

What we do know:

  • Public examinations will not take place in this academic year.
  • Grades will be calculated based on internal assessment data, mock grades, predicted grades, prior attainment (i.e. SATS/GCSE) and coursework.
  • An appeals procedure will be available at a later date if you disagree with your grade
  • Opportunities to sit public examinations may be available at a later date.
  • Grades should be awarded in August as normal.

What we recommend:

  • Where it is possible to complete coursework remotely, you continue to do this and speak regularly via email to your subject teachers.
  • You continue to work towards completing the content of your individual specifications, this is particularly important as you may be going on to study these topics at further/higher education and do not want gaps in your knowledge. We also feel it is absolutely essential that you keep your  minds and body active during this uncertain time in order to stay healthy. Completing your courses will assist you to do this.

We strongly believe that, despite these extremely difficult circumstances, a continuance of some sense of normality and structure is essential and, therefore, would stress that your child is encouraged to follow their normal timetable with appropriate breaks. It may not be possible for your child to follow this timetable exactly but please encourage them to spend the same time on each subject they would if in school across a total of 5 hours per day. Where pupils are continuing their studies into Further and Higher education, it is essential that they are not disadvantaged by gaps in knowledge and understanding.

Staff will be available via email to answer questions during the school day, although this may not always be immediate due to illness or their own childcare requirements. The primary source of contact for pupils should be their emails and we would recommend they check these daily for further instructions/work.

School email can be accessed by:

  1. Accessing www.office.com
  2. Sign in using your normal school login details and password
  3. Click on Outlook, your school emails will appear

Any queries regarding logins to email, Doddle, MyMaths, MathsWatch, GCSEPod or any other systems recommended should be directed to MCourtman@cromwell.cambs.sch.uk or JFinch@cromwell.cambs.sch.uk

Thank you for your support in these difficult times.
