What is Sports Premium?

Since the 2012 Olympic Games in London, primary schools have received additional funding from the Government to improve PE and Sport in school. The funding is provided to achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools. The Government have provided funding for Physical Education (PE) and sport to schools. This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and Sport provision. The funding is for is ring fenced to be used for sport specific areas to make a sustainable impact in Physical Education and Sport in schools.

Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and Sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and Sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

At Cromwell we strive to deliver the highest quality Physical Education and Sport opportunities for all our children. The Sports Premium funding will enhance the ‘pursuit of excellence’ in Physical Education and Sport at Cromwell Community College Primary Phase.
