Curriculum
Key Stage 5
WJEC Eduqas Level 3 Advanced GCE in Art and Design / Photography
Through studying photography, you will learn about the aesthetic, intellectual and technical aspects of photography, while developing your creativity through a programme of study spanning critical, practical, and theoretical skills across an ever-changing area of light-based imagery. You will also develop your ability to innovate, reflect and respond to personal and industry experiences expressively and produce visual photographic outcomes.
Independent learning is an integral part of the course, and you must be prepared to use your time outside of lessons to plan and capture photo content. You are also encouraged to proactively visit exhibitions, galleries, and museums to gain first-hand experience of contemporary and historical photography practices.
Course Specific Entry Requirements:
No prior knowledge required, however previous experience in a visual based subject at GCSE will be beneficial. It is helpful, but not a requirement, for students to have a camera of their own and access to Photoshop (we do however provide key pieces of equipment in the department)
Examination Board: Eduqas
